Should I get my baby into the pediatrician sooner?

My baby is 9 months old (will be 10 months on June 19th). The prob is this: He's in 18 mth clothes & at his last appt he was 22 lbs/28" long. That was beginning of May. Everyone who asks how old he is makes fat comments about him when I tell them. They're like "ohhh he's such a fat baby!" one girl really pissed me off when she asked how much he weighed and i said "22 pounds" she said "I work in a day care and the 20 month olds weigh 22 pounds...he's fat and you're feeding him too much"...i wanted to cry ...i'm not an emotional person unless it comes to my baby. Also, he only rolls. He doesn't crawl at all. he can't. he can't get his legs under him. He doesn't really look fat. not to me anyway...he's a lil pudgy but most babies are. Dr said he's a lil short for his age...but that he'll have another growth spurt soon. i go by the doctor's opinion...but I guess right now i'm just discouraged cuz everyone says my baby is fat...and he wears the same size clothes as my friend's 2 y/o.
