Yes as long as you dont get the 4 cylinder version, those engines are prone to all kinds of problems, personally i had one and it ran fine, but the owner before me had to replace the engine at 80,000 miles, and thats not much, so the new engine probly had around 100,000 when i got rid of it, but alot of mechanics have told me that if im gettin a Grand Am before 1998 dont get the 4 cylinders
