What is the life expectancy on a SUV?

I currently have a 2003 Pontiac Aztec. It has 83,000 miles on it. I needs some work done, but not sure how much (breaks, power steering fluid, etc.). It is paid off. Should I put the money into it to get it fixed or should I trade it in for a newer car? I mean how long are SUVs expected to last?
