Can you resurrect a browned, half gone strawberry plant?

I found a medium size strawberry plant in a pot near the trash, ready to be thrown out. When I saw that half was still living I took it home it hopes to save it. There are many shoots and leaves that are perfectly fine, but many are brown, burnt. Has anyone tried to save a plant? Should I cut off the burnt leaves or will they somehow grow back with proper care? I know strawberries require as much sun as possible.
