Y&R fans.. Anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?

I hate it when soaps introduce a new character just to show how they can sing. What's the point otherwise of having Devon's little cousin on this show?? Go on America's Got Talent or something... I don't watch this show b/c I want to see the writers promoting some "fresh young talent" It just gets on my nerves... Anyone with me??
