Some freed African American slaves did go back to Africa?

No, from what I read it was a society who began the idea of sending slaves back to Africa. The American government itself did not colonize Liberia or directly had part in its creation except giving them that land. It was the black slaves who set their government based on our government to form their new country. So it wasn't our responsibility to help them keep it. But it is interesting history about Liberia. It does make sense that freed African slaves would want to go back to where their ancestors came from.
